Admission requirements for master’s programmes

The admission to a master’s programme requires the completion of

  • a relevant bachelor programme at a university or
  • a relevant bachelor programme at a UAS (University of Applied Science – Fachhochschule) or
  • another equivalent programme at a recognised domestic or foreign post-secondary educational institution.

The two bachelor programmes Computer Science and Business Informatics at the University of Vienna qualify as relevant, in any case.

If the bachelor’s degree does not qualify as entirely equivalent, students may have to take additional courses and exams out of the bachelor programme. These may be a maximum of 30 ECTS and are to be taken during the master’s programme.

In order to find out whether the admission will be granted with or without additional exams, students can contact the Directorate of Studies beforehand. The final decision on the admission lies with the Rectorate according to the UG2002 (university law) in the course of the admission procedure.
