Huy Tran is a postdoc working at the Software Architecture Group (SWA), Faculty of Computer Science, University of Vienna, Austria.

Now Huy is working on the INDENICA (EU FP7) project on developing novel techniques to develop virtual service platforms (VSPs) for tailoring and integrating multiple heterogeneous service platforms.

From Oct 2008 to Feb 2011, Huy had worked on the COMPAS (EU FP7) project at developed new methodologies and techniques for modeling, assessing, and ensuring business compliance in SOAs. COMPAS results have been praised by the EU project officer and reviewers as exceptionally successful in all aspects.

His current research interests are mainly in the field of software engineering including software architecture, view-based architecture, model-driven engineering, service-oriented computing, process-driven service-oriented architectures, and distributed event-based software systems.

  • 1979: born in Quang Nam Province, Viet Nam.
  • 1997: finished high school in Da Nang City, Viet Nam.
  • 1997-2002: studied bachelor degree at Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, HCM City University of Technology, Viet Nam.
  • 2002-2005: worked as a lecturer at Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, HCM City University of Technology, Viet Nam.
  • 2005-2008: awarded a scholarship from Austria Ministry of Education and Research to study full-time doctoral degree at Vienna University of Technology, Austria.
  • Oct 2008 - Dec 2009: Project assistant at Distributed Systems Group, Vienna University of Technology, Austria.
  • Dec 2009: awarded Dr. techn. degree (with distinction) from Vienna University of Technology, Austria.
  • Dec 2009 - Feb 2011: Post-doctoral researcher at Distributed Systems Group, Vienna University of Technology, Austria.
  • Mar 2011 - present: Post-doctoral researcher at Software Architecture Group, University of Vienna, Austria.
