PROMISE

Abstract

The interdisciplinary project

PROMISE: Process Mining for Intrusion Detection in Smart Energy Grids

explores the application of process-oriented analysis techniques in the area of smart grid / smart meters. As smart meters continuously produce a plethora of data, it would be interesting and challenging to dive into this data and extract useful information. This potential is not fully exploited today. Even worse, hidden information on behavior is not exploited at all. Behavorial information in this context could be used in order to detect anomalies, i.e., deviations from prescribed or envisioned behavior. PROMISE will explore the possibilities to detect such behavorial anomalies for smart grid / smart meter processes with a special focus on intrusion detection.

The PROMISE project is funded by the Austrain Research Promition Agency (FFG), project number 849914.
